I am happy to introduce my friend and fellow artist, Alisha Saucedo, whom I met through Artistinc. Alisha was our group leader, and I was fascinated by her story as she was a successful therapist at RISE and a talented ceramist. Alisha has a warm and inviting personality, making communicating with her effortless. I was curious to know what inspired her to pursue art. I was amazed to discover that although she never considered herself an artist, she enjoyed being creative with pencils, markers, crochet, and paint. Mandalas and zentangles inspired her, and the repetition, patterns, and design flow influenced her art, which was created through color and contrast. Read more.

Alisha Saucedo

In 2021, she stumbled upon clay, which was like striking a match to her creativity. The allure of natural tones and patterns captivates her, drawing inspiration from the breathtaking beauty of nature. Despite considering herself a novice artist, she fearlessly ventures into uncharted territories of styles and techniques, eagerly seeking her authentic artistic voice. With every step taken, she feels the exhilarating proximity to its discovery like never before.

She treasures a petite floral vase, meticulously hand-carved with delicate flowers. The vibrant hues, textured details, and a 'Yummy Drippy' glaze exquisitely enhance its raw clay beauty, captivating the beholder.

As a budding artist, I've always been curious about her wellspring of inspiration. She answered that her art has been undeniably shaped by the bold, boundary-pushing style of Diana Adams—a fearless, experimental black artist who ignites her passion for uncharted techniques and staying true to herself.

I always love asking artists about the impact they hope their art will have on the viewer. Alisha shared that her biggest wish is to inspire young creatives to connect with their inner artist while finding ways to prioritize their mental and physical well-being. Art is just one of the many paths to achieving balance in life. I'm eagerly anticipating the chance to experience Alicia's stunning artwork!
